Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 2, 2026
LuNote is designed with your privacy in mind. Your notes, tasks, and personal data stay on your device and are never sold to third parties.
1. Who We Are
LuNote is developed and operated by LuNote Studio. If you have any questions about this policy, you can contact us at support@lunote.app.
2. Data We Collect
LuNote collects the minimum data necessary to provide its services:
- Notes, tasks, and calendar events — stored locally on your device via SwiftData. If iCloud sync is enabled, data is synced through your personal iCloud account.
- Audio recordings — stored locally on your device in the app's Documents folder. If you use the transcription or meeting summary feature, audio is sent to OpenAI's Whisper API.
- Location data — used only to show local weather on the home screen and widget. We do not store or transmit your location to our servers.
- Subscription information — managed by RevenueCat. We receive anonymized purchase status; we do not store your payment details.
3. Data We Do Not Collect
- We do not create user accounts on our servers.
- We do not collect analytics, crash reports, or behavioral tracking data.
- We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with advertisers.
- We do not read, access, or process your notes on our servers.
4. Third-Party Services
LuNote uses the following third-party services, each with their own privacy policies:
5. iCloud Sync
If you enable iCloud sync, your notes, tasks, and library data are synced via Apple's CloudKit infrastructure to your personal iCloud account. LuNote Studio does not have access to your iCloud data.
6. Backup Files
When you create a backup (.lunote file), the file contains your notes, tasks, folders, and book progress in JSON format. Backup files are not encrypted. Store them in a secure location.
7. Children's Privacy
LuNote is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
8. Data Deletion
You can delete all your data at any time:
- In-app: Settings → Backup & Restore → Replace All (with an empty backup), or delete the app.
- Account deletion: LuNote does not create server-side accounts. Deleting the app removes all local data. To remove iCloud sync data, go to iPhone Settings → iCloud → Manage Storage → LuNote → Delete Data.
- Email request: Contact us at support@lunote.app for any data deletion requests.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the new policy.
